New CM course, The Heart: from Images to Models, offered this intersession

The Heart: from Images to Models (Course number – EN.580.205)  will be available during the 2016 intersession under the direction of Farhad Pashakhanloo, BME PhD candidate in the lab of Dr. Natalia Trayanova, professor of Biomedical Engineering and ICM core faculty. The course will provide an overview of cardiac anatomy and electrophysiology, along with the fundamentals of image acquisition in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT). Students will become familiarized with the state-of-the-art in imaging and computational modeling of the heart and how they could be employed in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.

This one-credit course will be accepted as an elective towards the completion of the CM undergraduate minor, with both medical (M) and computational (C) designation.
