Natalia Trayanova visits Capitol Hill in Support of NIH Funding
ICM core faculty member, Natalia Trayanova, participated in a briefing on Capitol Hill in defense of the federal funding of scientific research yesterday. The briefing was organized by United for Medical Research, a coalition whose mission is to seek steady increases in funding for the National Institutes of Health. Trayanova was one of four NIH-funded scientists to highlight the importance of NIH support in medical discovery and advancement. Trayanova, Murray B. Sachs Professor in the department of biomedical engineering, is known for her virtual model of the heart which promises to improve and personalize cardiac treatment and care.
