May 22, 2018

Farhad Pashakhanloo, a postdoctoral fellow in the Institute for Computational Medicine has been awarded a 2018 Postdoctoral Fellowship from the American Heart Association. The two year award will support his research project titled, “High-resolution imaging and modeling approaches for studying infarct-related ventricular arrhythmias.” Pashakhanloo works in the laboratory of Natalia Trayanova, ICM core faculty member and Murray B. Sachs Professor of Biomedical Engineering.

Pashakhanloo’s project will use whole-heart imaging and computer models to improve understanding of how the complex infarct structure contributes to ventricular tachycardia (VT). Pashakhanloo aims to improve the interpretation of clinical data that will ultimately improve the delivery of VT ablation therapy.

The American Heart Association awards annual fellowships to early career professionals in healthcare and academia to enhance integrated research and clinical training and to enable  recipients to develop academic careers in research alongside fulfilling clinical service commitments.
