Donald Geman featured in PNAS QnAs and JHU Engineering

Throughout his career, Donald Geman, ICM core faculty member and professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, has developed statistical methods for a variety of research applications.

Geman’s most recent research published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences focuses on engineering an algorithm that may assist in differentiating between certain forms of cancer. This work builds on Geman’s experience with pattern-recognition problems from his earlier work in the area of computer vision.
