Annie Liang, a BME sophomore in the ICM laboratory of Natalia Trayanova, Murray B. Sachs Professor of Biomedical Engineering, is one of 48 awardees of the 2018-19 Provost Undergraduate Research Awards (PURA).  Annie’s winning research proposal titled, “Parameters influencing arrhythmia inducibility in the post myocardial infarcted (MI) heart arising from treatment with PSC-CM cell sheets,” was chosen by a faculty selection committee from a highly-competitive group of submissions.

The Provost Undergraduate Research Awards were established by The Hodson Trust in 1993 to encourage Hopkins undergraduates to pursue research and creative projects under the guidance of a JHU mentor. PURA recipients will present their projects at DREAMS, a JHU campus wide event held annually to celebrate and showcase the creative and scholarly efforts of the year’s awardees.
