Farhad Pashakhanloo’s human heart image to appear on the cover of Nature Reviews Cardiology

Congratulations to Farhad Pashakhanloo, a postdoc in the lab of ICM core faculty member Natalia Trayanova, Murray B. Sachs Professor of Biomedical Engineering. Pashakhanloo’s image of a human heart has been chosen among many entries to appear on the cover of Nature Reviews Cardiology. The picture shows detailed fibre tractography of the whole heart from a patient with atrial fibrillation and is reconstructed from in-vitro high-resolution diffusion tensor MRI obtained over 60 hours of scan time. Pashakhanloo’s image will appear on the cover for 12 months in a different color each month. The full cover can be seen here.
