ICM Graduate student Hannah Carter has been awarded a 2008 National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship for breast cancer research. Hannah will build a computational model to identify weak links in the PI3K/AKT pathway that can serve as drug targets in the prevention of breast cancer progression and metastasis and investigate the mechanisms behind cancer drug resistance.  The NDSEG Fellowship will cover her tuition, required fees and a stipend for three years.
