Rachel Karchin and Joel Bader elected to the AIMBE College of Fellows

Two ICM core faculty members have been elected to the 2017 College of Fellows of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). Rachel Karchin, associate professor of Biomedical Engineering and William R. Brody Faculty Scholar, was nominated for “outstanding contributions to translational bioinformatics and computational molecular precision medicine.” Joel Bader, professor of Biomedical Engineering, was recognized for “outstanding contributions to systems biology of human disease, computational biology, and synthetic biology.”

Drs. Karchin and Bader are among the top 2% of the medical and biological engineering community who have been selected to receive this distinguished honor. AIMBE Fellows are nominated each year by their peers and are recognized for their outstanding contributions to medical and biological engineering innovation for the benefit of humanity. Karchin and Bader will be inducted to the Class of 2017 Fellows at AIMBE’s Annual Meeting at the National Academy of Science, Monday, March 20, 2017.
